THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF

PROFESSIONAL HOLISTIC AROMATHERAPY

Fostering the education and practice of the professional holistic aromatherapist

Peer Review Process
Supportive, Objective, and Collaborative

The International Journal of Professional Holistic Aromatherapy (IJPHA) is committed to fostering a scholarly voice while supporting authors at every step of the submission process.

Double-Blind Policy

To ensure objectivity and fairness, the IJPHA uses a double-blind peer-review framework. Reviewers do not know the author's identity, and the author does not know the reviewers' identities.

To maintain absolute editorial integrity, this double-blind standard applies equally to every contributor without exception—including external submitters, journal reviewers, and members of the IJPHA editorial team who submit their own work.

Constructive Mentorship Over Rejection

Rather than issuing outright rejections for promising papers, the IJPHA treats the review process as a collaborative teaching tool. The review team provides thoughtful, constructive, and actionable feedback to help authors strengthen their methodology, structure, and literature base.

A Dedicated Timeline for Quality

Depending on the subject's complexity and the scope of revisions needed, the process can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. This period often involves multiple rounds of collaborative back-and-forth between the author and reviewers to ensure the final manuscript reaches its full publication potential.

The Value of Peer Review for Authors

Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal is one of the most effective ways for researchers, clinicians, and practitioners to contribute to the body of knowledge in holistic aromatherapy, validate their clinical findings, and build professional credibility.

1

Rigorous Validation

Peer review serves as a trusted benchmark of quality, ensuring that published methods, case studies, and literature reviews adhere to professional standards.

2

Elevated Credibility

Articles published in a peer-reviewed publication carry greater authority, helping authors establish themselves as subject-matter experts and thought leaders.

3

Knowledge Preservation & Discovery

Peer-reviewed journals create a lasting, referenceable record of clinical practice, safety protocols, and botanical research that advances the entire field.

4

Professional Growth

The process of refining a paper through critical evaluation sharpens analytical skills, deepens research capabilities, and clarifies clinical insights.
